Urethane STRIPPERS 114 Style
Muratec 114 Style PU Strippers : Muratec 114 Style standard tool used for punching from thin to thick work sheets. The style 114
tool has a Urethane Stripper, which is designed without Rib (Standard) and Rib for Rectangle or
Obround (Two parallel ribs), Stripper with a reinforced rib in order to enhance strip power
depending on the tool shape.
Since urethane is a soft material, small slugs may become embedded in the surface of the
urethane stripper. This can subsequently cause indentations on the work sheet surface.
Therefore, periodic cleaning of the urethane strippers is essential
Over extended periods, urethane strippers may harden and eventually crack or break, even
during storage. Accordingly, they should be replaced once they reach the end of their service
life.
If the punching edge protrudes beyond the urethane stripper, strip-miss conditions may
occur. In such cases, the mounting and alignment of the stripper should be inspected and
corrected.
After replacing a urethane stripper, it is recommended to seat the stripper by punching at
every station without a work sheet before commencing normal punching operations.
Preventive Steps for Extended Stripper Life
Remove the Stripper and clean around the Punch periodically.
Clean around the Die holder and remove slug from the Die.
Fill up the Stripper pocket with grease before Stripper loading on Punch holder.
Check Punch cutting-edge's worn-out condition and re-grind or replace it, if necessary.
Check total length of the Punch & adjust the shim between Punch and Punch holder.
Replace the new Punch if Punch height is 5 mm shorter than specified standard height.
If Die clearance is small, use proper Die clearance according to sheet thickness.
Avoid usage of Rib Stripper for Insert type rectangle tools.
Ensure proper slug ejector condition.
